Unicorn

Unicorn Records was founded in 1971 by producer and musician David B. H. Houghton in the United Kingdom. Initially focused on progressive rock and folk music, the label gained prominence in the 1970s by signing notable artists such as the folk-rock band The Strawbs and the progressive rock group Curved Air. Unicorn became known for its distinctive roster that included a blend of rock, jazz, and experimental music. In the 1980s, the label faced challenges due to changing music trends and eventually ceased operations in the mid-1980s. Despite its relatively short lifespan, Unicorn Records left a legacy of artistic innovation and contributed to the development of niche genres during its active years. The label's catalog continues to be appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage progressive and folk music.
